Raindrops from the Sky
In the sea, tuna Ton swims smooth and slow, Swish, swish, swish, where the cool waves go. From up above come drops of rain, Plip, plop, tapping the sea again. Round little rings spread wide and round, Ton listens softly to the sound.
On the shore, deer Ema and cow Mouka stand, Beside the sea on shining sand. It was Valentine’s Day; one pear they placed Upon a rock in a quiet space. Rain on the pear went drip, drip, drop— A tiny song that would not stop. “It falls from the sky and comes to the sea,” said Ema. Mouka nodded, “Yes, I agree.”
They tiptoed together to a tide pool clear, While raindrops plopped softly near. The rain fell in: plop, plop, plop, And Ton swam up—swish!—to the top. Ema smiled, and Mouka smiled too, “Those raindrops came all the way through!” Three gentle voices, warm and low, Joined the rain’s soft song below.
By the willow tree, when rain was through, Drops from leaf tips fell, drip, drip, too. Ton spun in the waves with a twirl, Ema and Mouka watched his swirl. From sky to sea, the rain sang true: “Drip, plop, dear friends—see you!”
